Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after that period of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour championship, took control to force a third set.

Moutet saved four early break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
